Dreams of a Carrie Bradshaw closet!!

I think after watching Sex and the City, every woman dreams of having their own "Big" to build them their very own Carrie Bradshaw closet!
How lovely would that be! All of your favorites displayed for you to see!!
Being that our house was built in the 1950's, closet space is pretty limited for a
 fashionista-shopaholic!
Ever since seeing the idea of turning a room in to a walk-in-closet while scrolling away on Pinterest one day I have wanted to make it a dream come true for me!
I have been sharing some sneak peeks but now  I want to share with you my finished product... my very own walk-in-closet complete with sparkly chandelier!

Jewelry display:

This was hand built by a friend of a friend and gifted to me!
I love being able to display all my sparkles and statements this way!!

More features of the room:

Every walk-in-closet needs to be complete with a chandelier right!?!?

I was so excited to find these cute baskets at the local Meijer... perfect for my sandals and flats!!

Every fashionista walk-in-closet also needs a dressing mirror too!

One of my favorite parts:

Instead of preserving my wedding dress, I wanted to still be able to see it everyday because I LOVED it!!
It was such a stunning gown and I am so glad I chose to hang it in my room.
I am glad that I was able to find this wallpaper too... it is perfect! Totally tops off the room!

Thanks so much for checking out my transformation, I hope you liked it!!
Have a great day!

xoxo

  3. Ahh! LOVE this!! Tell us more about your wedding dress?! Where did you get the display case? Is it too heavy to hand on the wall?!

    1. Thank you so much Lisa!! I actually got the display case at Hobby Lobby (they are a little pricey but with their 40% off coupon, makes it a little more bearable!) It comes with pins in the case and I used those to hold up the dress!!! I didn't need to buy anymore pins and it stays! My dress was on the simpler side (no train, no poof) because of our destination wedding so my dress itself is not very heavy and the case is pretty average. My husband mounted it in a stud to ensure that it will stay up all right! Hope this helps! I don't know how it is going to hold up in the case but I just love this idea of being able to see it every day instead of in a box somewhere in a closet!

  6. This is amazing!!! I LOVE that you framed your wedding dress and hung it on the wall. I'd love to do that if I ever have a walk in closet some day. Everything is prefect. I love the wallpaper and the chandelier--gorgeous!

  8. I love this! Makes me wish I had an available room to do this to! LOVE the couch and the wallpaper. Our house was built in the 1930s, and even though it's been remodeled, there's still very little closet space.

Did you make your jewelry organizer? It's adorable! I've got an old jewelry armoire but I'd be interested in doing something like that!
